Combination of cluster number counts and two-point correlations: validation on mock Dark Energy Survey

چکیده

ABSTRACT We present a method of combining cluster abundances and large-scale two-point correlations, namely galaxy clustering, galaxy–cluster cross-correlations, autocorrelations, lensing. This data vector yields comparable cosmological constraints to traditional analyses that rely on small-scale lensing for mass calibration. use survey simulations designed resemble the Dark Energy Survey Year 1 (DES-Y1) validate analytical covariance matrix parameter inferences. The posterior distribution from analysis is statistically consistent with absence systematic biases detectable at precision DES-Y1 experiment. compare χ2 values in their expectation find no significant difference. robustness our results against variety effects verified using simulated likelihood DES-Y1-like vectors. work presents first-ever end-to-end validation abundance catalogue level simulations.

Constraining Dark Energy by Combining Cluster Counts and Shear–Shear Correlations in a Weak Lensing Survey

We study the potential of a large future weak–lensing survey to constrain dark energy properties by using both the number counts of detected galaxy clusters (sensitive primarily to density fluctuations on small scales) and tomographic shear–shear correlations (restricted to large scales). We use the Fisher matrix formalism, assume a flat universe and parameterize the equation of state of dark e...

Cluster Number Counts Dependence on Dark Energy Inhomogeneities and Coupling to Dark Matter

Cluster number counts can be used to test dark energy models. We investigate dark energy candidates which are coupled to dark matter. We analyze the cluster number counts dependence on the amount of dark matter coupled to dark energy. Further more, we study how dark energy inhomogeneities affect cluster abundances. It is shown that increasing the coupling reduces significantly the cluster numbe...

Number counts in homogeneous and inhomogeneous dark energy models

In the simple case of a constant equation of state, redshift distribution of collapsed structures may constrain dark energy models. Different dark energy models having the same energy density today but different equations of state give quite different number counts. Moreover, we show that introducing the possibility that dark energy collapses with dark matter (“inhomogeneous” dark energy) signi...

Self-Calibration of Cluster Dark Energy Studies: Counts in Cells

Cluster number counts can constrain the properties of dark energy if and only if the evolution in the relationship between observable quantities and the cluster mass can be calibrated. Next generation surveys with ∼ 10 clusters will have sufficient statistics to enable some degree of self-calibration. The excess variance of counts due to the clustering of clusters provides such an opportunity a...

Clusters number counts dependence on dark energy inhomogeneities and coupling to dark matter

Many dark energy candidates have been proposed to explain the accelerated expansion the universe seems to be currently undertaking. Discriminating between them is likely to be a major issue in the near future, and cluster number counts would be a good tool for this. In this article we study scalar field candidates to dark energy which are coupled to dark matter. We focus on comparing the cluste...
